Hey, folks!Briefly, I spent 17 years as a newspaper sportswriter. I covered the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, as well as high school football, basketball and baseball.During that time, I worked the World Series and NFL playoffs and did solo interviews with Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, John Elway, Brett Favre, Shaquille O'Neal, Derek Jeter and dozens of others.I won 45 awards in the newspaper business, including first place for general excellence from Associated Press for my coverage of the 1995 World Series. AP also selected me as one of the top four feature writers in Ohio in 2001.I have since become a fulltime freelance sportswriter and educational bookwriter. I am currently writing for the National Football League Players Association, United States Olympic Committee and other organizations.I have also written about 15 educational books that have run the gamut. They have been geared for elementary school, middle school, high school and college students. I have written biographies on Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordo, Mets third baseman David Wright and Ravens safety Ed Reed.The rest of my books have been about history, including The Battle of the Little Bighorn, Stock Market Crash and Operation Desert Storm.I am married with three kids and I LOVE tennis, though I used to be much better than I am now. I am also a huge fan of the Andy Griffith Show and silly sitcoms such as Green Acres and Seinfeld.
I am definitely an oldies and classic rock fan. My favorite groups are the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, CCR and the Byrds.
