I am a pretty regular guy. Married to the most wonderful person in the world and now have a one year old son to match. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but it has taken on a new purpose in my life.
Four years ago a cancerous tumor was discovered in my sinus cavity. I have battled the disease ever since. Cancer has won the physical battles, but is no chance against me on the mental ones.
I don't look for pity-I am looking for help to get even.
It is this positive attitude and a "belief in the impossible" that drives my mission with my most recent book. Simply put I want to better the lives of children who have cancer or other serious illness.
My book does not talk about cancer or treatment. It is just a fun and adventurous story that I hope not only allows sick children to escape their pain mentally for a few hours at a time, but also inspires them to keep fighting.
Traditional publishing channels have yet to support my mission to give every child a copy of my book. However, www.sharing-books.com has given me a place to show my work publicly, retain the rights to my material and possibly earn some money to further my cause. And it is all free, without the "sale pitch" from authors needed to post their material. I recommend visiting the site because this concept has the potential to revolutionize the publishing industry the way youtube and napster have changed the entertainment industry.
For me, I am just happy that I have a platform to share my work globally and perhaps better the lives of a lot sick children.
