I've been a medical writer and proofreader my adult career, and now I've decided to try my hand at writing children's books in my "spare" time. My less than superbly behaved niece and nephew are serving as my inspiration. I’d like to gently fill the void when misguided parents choose to be their child’s friend, rather than being their parents. My first offering, Where Did Our Christmas Presents Go? is actually a Christmas present for my niece and nephew this year (self published with lulu.com). It’s a story about two children whose parents give their Christmas presents to people who are more needy than they are. In light of difficult economic times, I thought it was important to convey a message of giving to others who are less fortunate and helping kids understand the true message of Christmas. I am looking for a "real" illustrator and "real" publisher, but will find immense satisfaction in giving it only as a gift, for at least I can truly say that I tried.
