Thanks, Eric. I'm still stumbling around the site. I've had some poems published here and there but am new to the publishing world. I search for agents and publishers for my picture book periodically, some want them with illustrations included and some will take just the text but I have a clear idea of what I want the finished book to be and I'm hesitant to submit just the text. My husband is actually a very talented artist but has enough to occupy him currently and I don't know the intricacies of the collaborative process to know how it works: I wouldn't want to waste time or money (mine or the artist's) having them do a book's worth of illustrations only to have it rejected by the publishers. I have a couple short story and novel-length ideas I'm working on but the picture book is ready, it'd be really nice to be proceed with something, I just don't know how to go about coordinating with an illustrator to the end result of a published book. Quite the dilemma. :-) Happy 4th of July!
