About Deborah
Deborah Bryon has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at UCLA in 1976, master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 1979 at United States International University, and a B.F.A. in Drawing at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Deborah is in the final control stage of becoming a Jungian Analyst through the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. For the last several years she has received in-depth training with Q-ero shamans in Peru. In conjunction with her private practice, Deborah has taught classes in the psychology departments of the University of Colorado and Metropolitan State College of Denver.Prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Bryon worked as an art therapist and provided counseling services for suicidal teens and adults struggling with chronic mental illness in psychiatric hospitals, at-risk and incarcerated teens who were often abuse victims, women who were victims of domestic violence, and members of the gay and lesbian community struggling with alcoholism. She has also administered neuropsychological assessments to disabled veterans with traumatic brain injuries at the Denver Veterans Administration Hospital, and conducted neuropsychological evaluations with children who have learning disabilities through the Neuropsychology Learning Disabilities Clinic at the University of Denver. Prior to re-entering the field of psychology, she was a stockbroker on Wall Street, and started and owned a business designing and manufacturing ladies and children’s resort wear.
