About Debbie
Since childhood, I have dreamt of being a writer and have always written stories, poetry and plays. Then life, and the need to earn a living, got in the way. The decision to finally follow my dream once more came about 14 years ago when I suffered the tragic loss of my youngest brother, followed much too soon afterwards by my beloved dad. These two life altering events proved that life is much too fragile and precious to waste it wondering "what if?"
As an avid reader and a particular fan of fantasy novels, plus a love of all things mythological and magical, it was inevitable that I should write a children’s fantasy story. Like most authors, even those writing of a fantasy world, I called upon my own life experiences and the traits and personalities of loved ones (and not so loved ones!) to create a whole new existence. And so, The Long Ears Legacy was born.
The Harp of Elvyth became the first book in the series and it follows the adventures of a young girl, Lizzie Longton, as she makes her way in two quite different parallel worlds. Book two continues the journey and a further two books are planned.
Enthusiastically, and with total belief in my story, I set out to get the first book published. A little over a year ago, a dear friend suggested I publish to Kindle and so I took my first step into the literary world, and I’m so very glad I did. My own, and my family and friends', belief in me and my story has been vindicated, with fantastic reviews and feedback from readers all over the planet - from Europe to the US and Canada and Australia to Japan, not forgetting those in the UK. The response to the paperback version has been even more amazing.
The Harp of Elvyth, Book 1 of The Long Ears Legacy, is available in paperback on Amazon, WHsmith.com, Waterstones.com, and on Kindle.
