I am looking for a publisher who specializes in educational books that present themselves as story books. I have a children's book with a large target audience. The book is fun and has beautiful illustrations from 2 different artists. It has a different look than what has been seen so far, but more importantly, the story has a huge twist at the end that packs a BIG gut punch. It is showing a fairly new concept to look at things on a still very taboo subject. Disability. This story will make you cry with joy, truely. The concept fits for so many situations... where someone is different from our self, or not what we are used to. I give children credit for understanding big concepts with out explaining it to them in the traditional "literal" sense. There is a discussion section of questions for teachers (for after the book is read) as well as the most favorable and current answers revolving around people who have disabilities, their differences, and their similarities to others. This book is truly fresh and positively progressive. It is a must have for schools, libraries, therapists, doctors, and families.
