Stephanie was educated in Australia and New Zealand after her family emigrated. After training as a nurse, she returned to England.

She has had forty books published by such publishers as Cambridge University Press, Andre Deutsch, Anglia Young Books, Poolbeg, and Puffin, plus an historical novel for adults.

Stephanie has written a number of educational resources for the educational publisher, Educational Printing Services Ltd. These include three Assembly books (Philosophical Stories, Infant Stories and Inspirational Lives), as well as four books for reluctant readers and two historical novels.

In 2005 following the Asian tsunami disaster the previous year, she was one of 15 writers invited to contribute a story to an anthology Higher Ground which was sold to raise money for the child victims.

Stephanie visits schools to talk to children about writing, and also tutors for two writing schools.

She is a member of the Society of Authors, The Federation of Children’s Book Groups and the SAS (Scattered Authors’ Society).

Her latest books are a series about a madcap chef called Mr Pattacake. (7 years+)The first two in the series is published in November 2013.
