Two careers ago I was the Feature Writer and Editor for Scholastic's CO-ED Magazine, and went on to edit at Redbook and free lance for Self and Inc. Magazines.
Raising two kids got me interested in education, and their initial difficulties with reading led me to train as a Reading Specialist. In career #2 I taught in several NYC public schools and tutored children and adults.
Drawing on all these experiences, I've begun writing fiction for children and young teens, and so far the themes or circumstances reflect my Jewish experiences. I recently completed at YA novel and it's been entered in the Sydney Taylor Manuscript Awards Competition. More to come.
