I have always fancied myself to be a story-teller. And a collaborator. As half of a textbook writing team, our book is just going into its fourth edition and has become the standard for the discipline.That's been highly encouraging.With another pal of long-standing, we've managed to get two-and-a-half books written over the course of thirty-five or forty years, and we're about to venture into self-publishing via Kindle. We began writing way back when because we had small kids and probably thought we needed to be doing something productive when we got together (We're from the midwest, mind you, where people think any effort should be productive). These days, it seems just too all-consuming to seek and woo agents at this late stage, I'm afraid. We just want someone, young or not-so, to read what we've written and be as engaged by it as we are.
