About Penelope
Hi, I get into just about a little of everything --as something of a Jacqueline of All Trades. I took up promoting e-books from a blog page I created and wound up communicating with one of the authors who had written an e-book series for children with autism. I did that because if I was going to work so hard to get traffic to my site, I wanted to know how much competition I had from the authors themselves who must have top engine for searches of their own titles. As it turns out, I read online that that author was looking to get published in hardcopy within 2011, so I wrote to her to ask when that would be done. She wrote back saying it wasn't done, we corresponded, and now, for that goal of publishing, I am her agent. This agent role will fold, more or less, into my being her publicist upon our entering the expanded portion of the contract (all of which I am drafting) --see what I mean? Now, here's the rest --my background includes a Bachelor of Architecture, a community college real estate course, a NASA summer training program, and summer training in architectural planning abroad. Currently, I am a seasonal standardized test scorer, semi-volunteer/member with a community initiative that is to innovate to family choice in social service options, and a champion of family law reform including the instituting of parents' rights.
As far as young children, I've taught and trained some in short stints for a couple of settings --e.g., the summer program Reading Is Fundamental in which I taught with fascination when I was 11 years of age. One of RIF's nice boons was the giveaway of free books to the children at the end of each day of the program. Also, during an early portion of 2010, I was a substitute teacher for a day care center for ages 0 to pre-k.
