I'm having a little break of my own at the moment. Some 'use it or lose it' holiday time. I'm currently staying in an old farm house in Lochwinnoch, about 20 minutes out of Glasgow. It's my partner's childhood home. His folks are away and we like it as a bolt hole to escape from the city from time to time. Hopefully I'll get some good writing done while I'm here.

I just googled St Helen's as I've never been and came across a site that shows old photos. It looks like a lovely place and would allow me to enjoy my other great loves- history and walking! I was in Hexham last year for a hen weekend and then Winchester for the wedding. I thought both places were lovely. I tend to go North when I travel but I realize I should broaden my scope a little more.

I currently live in Glasgow but I was brought up in a small village in Ayrshire and then spent 4 years at uni in Stirling.
I don't know if you've travelled all that much in Scotland but there are places I would recommend. Just bring your wellies!

I've only just started writing for childrenbut I'm working
on an adverture story, which hassome rhymming but
also deals with the themes of friendship, sharing, and
exploring the world around them through going on a quest and completing tasks. It's currently simmering
as I've been living with it for too long.

I guess the kids give your imagination food for thought. I've found that being a cub-leader.
