Ms. Lori Cardiff-Chamberlain,

"Hello Rachel,
I am attempting to fix this problem. Unfortunately, because the store had to close, and books were late, this last round happened much more chaotically than I would have liked. Erica doesn’t have answers for me about why these books are missing. Most of the books for this round seemed to arrive fine, but I have a few orders that didn’t. All of the store’s accounts have been shut down, and I have filed for bankruptcy. Technically, this means I’m off the hook, but I am really trying to fix this and leave on a good note, because that is what my conscience dictates. What I am trying to do is look at all of the orders that are missing books, and see if I can get friends who own a bookstore to get the books for me and then ask Chuck to do one more little round. I will probably have to pay for these out of my personal account, and it’s not going to happen over-night.
I hear you. This is not fair. Trust me, if I had had other options for the store I would have chosen to have things happen differently. As it is, two months after we closed the store, I am still attempting to clean things up. This has had a major impact on our community, my employees, my family, and me personally. I am doing the best I can to push through it. Thanks for your understanding."
Lori:
I find it interesting and unusual that when she has sent numerous e-mails complaining about this order I receive what appears to be a form letter stating that all orders have been shipped and you are done as of February 8th. This is clearly not what you stated in the above e-mail to Rachael. I have also searched the internet for any record of St. Helen's Bookstore, Lori Cardiff, or Lori Chamberlain and see no record of a bankruptcy being filed. I also find it dubious that bankruptcies take literal months to process, so you were aware of your impending bankruptcy and financial concerns when the orders were being placed in November, but apparently did not choose to take this into account when taking orders. Have to get that dollar bill don't you?
I do appreciate your situation, but I am not that sorry for you when it appears you sent this last e-mail to me to merely cover your own ass and have zero intention of following through with the order. We never received the book, or the shirts, so we're left just empty-handed. While it is incredibly unfortunate that you have had to file for bankruptcy; when there appears to be little to no employee accountability (Ericka) and zero accountability as to inventory I cannot say it is incredibly surprising. The book shipment being late and resulting chaos does not account for the missing shirts. Nor does it account for the lack of follow-up since then. Again, it is no surprise that when a company just stamps orders as "processed" in their system, but does nothing to account for inventory that the company faces financial difficulties.
I apologize for sounding like a witch, but if your conscience truly dictated that you do the right thing I feel as if my fiance wouldn't have had to send 7-8 e-mails just to get a semblance of an explanation. Also, your e-mail touched on why the book is not here (the late book shipment), but did not mention where the shirts are. I am confused as to why there is zero accountability or apology for this ineptitude. I assume your e-mail which lacked any semblance of responsibility was sent to simply get my fiance to stop sending you e-mails. I will now refute the charges with my bank and share my story of how St. Helen's bookstore and Lori Cardiff-Chamerberlain thought it was appropriate to take a teacher's money without rendering goods or even apology after over two months (which by the way is hardly expecting anything to happen overnight) to anyone that will listen in person or on the internet. I am a true believer in karma and taking money from others then just saying eh, I'm technically clear because I filed bankruptcy may make what you did legally acceptable, however, it is still far from morally acceptable. I consider you a crook and a perfect example of an entitled, bad person.
I would normally watch my words in the hopes of getting my goods or money back, but based on your e-mails that are contrary to one another and the fact that you clearly know what the right thing to do is based on your e-mail to Rachael, yet have marked the order as complete on your website knowing it is not in the least bit complete shows you have an utter lack of conscience or moral turpitude. I hope your husband has some kind of moral compass or your children don't stand of a chance of knowing right from wrong. Now off to facebook, stumble, and any other outlet where I can share where I can share what a con-artist and sham you are.
