I have two college degrees: An AAS in Business Marketing and Merchandising and a BS in Computer Science. I have owned and operated my own successful video rental business since June of 1990. At one point I owned three stores and now own one, called Under One Roof Video. I am also co-owner, along with my husband Jim, of House Doctors Handyman Service.

A 10-year-old, playing at my house in Cliff Haven, NY, came upon a manuscript I wrote in 1978 for a high school creative writing class. The young lady said excitedly to me, "Wow, this is great! You should be a writer!" This enthusiasm was all I needed to begin writing regional children's books. My15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter offer a lot of creative ideas and inspiration.

My business sense has helped me in marketing and promoting her books. I usen my experience with computers to develop my web site, www.rebeccaleonard.com. My computer expertise has also been invaluable to me while I began my own publishing company, Leonard Enterprises, Inc.

I have lived in the Adirondack area most of my life and I love to share my passion(s) of reading and the Adirondacks with younger children.

I am a proud member of: Adirondack Center For Writing, SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators) and the Independent Publishers of New England.
