About Gayle
Gayle Wheatley is a professional illustrator, graphic designer, and writer, who specializes in fun, fashionable, and irresistibly glamorous illustrations and vibrant, dream-like, and delightfully textured paintings. Her artwork is heavily influenced by mythology, Asian culture, feminist thought, and her many globe trekking adventures. She has lived abroad in both Italy and Japan, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She currently maintains a studio in Los Angeles.
Gayle Wheatley has created illustration and design for clients such as Teen magazine, Bratz Dolls (MGA Entertainment), Natural Health magazine, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Four Seasons Resorts, Southern Bride Magazine, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Whole Life Times, Tokyo and Kansai Scene magazines, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and The Wall Street Journal, just to name a few.
Gayle Wheatley earned her BA in Journalism and Fine Arts from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Additionally, she studied drawing, painting, and design extensively at Studio Art Centers International, in Florence, Italy. She is an accomplished painter and illustrator whose work has been published and exhibited in the United States, Japan, England, Italy, Germany, Canada, South Korea and Hong Kong, and her art can be found in numerous private collections around the world.
