About Rhonda
I am new to writing children's books but not new to reading, collecting and sharing them with young children. Making a difference in the lives of young children led me to a career in early childhood education. I started as a kindergarten teacher and quickly earned a masters degree in early childhood education and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration. I served as a principal of two large early childhood centers and "rounded" out my career in education as an assistant professor at Sam Houston State University in the College of Education.
I retired in 2010 to follow my dreams as a writer, consultant and homemaker.
I love animals and part of my life includes my therapy dog Nabisco. I have successfully used animal assisted therapy with children in crisis for the last ten years.
