Welcome to Jacket Flap! How did you find changing countries? My sister went from Australia to live in Seattle for about 8 years (spouse's work ) and has just come back plus 6 year old daughter born there. She found it a bit of a culture shock even though it is a western country - much besides the weather was somehow 'different'. Interested to hear your reactions

Based on her description of Candlewick (as compared to other publishers), I would urge you to be patient and hold out for an editorial position there. I know the grass may look greener at a big New York house, but Candlewick seems to be a very supportive and nurturing envirnoment for both its employess and authors. I wish you much success there.
