Lady McCrady is an American contemporary New York painter who illustrated a popular Houghton Mifflin book on her return from London at age 21. Kids Are Natural Cooks, the first children's cookbook, was profusely illustrated with line drawings, edited by Walter Lorraine and compiled by Parent's Nursery School of Cambridge MA. BFA Syracuse University VPA, in her 20's she was known for editorial illustrations for GQ, Redbook, The New York Times, The NY Daily News, and 24 other picture books for Alfred A Knopf, The Dial Press, TY Crowell, The Feminist Press and William Morrow. She authored and illustrated Junior's Tune, Mildred and the Mummy, and Miss Kiss and the Nasty Beast for Holiday House publishers, and Starboy for Avon/Camelot books. Andy Warhol's interest in her was profiled in Interview Magazine several times, and at age 30 she returned to studio painting practice, with solo exhibitions in the East Village New York, the Hamptons, and Paris.
