Welcome to the site if you are new. I am new and just finding my way around. I am trying to let people know who I am and trying to get to know other members. I hope we can be good freinds!
I recently have a new children's book coming out this November called "Sadie the Skunk." It’s about a little skunk who thinks she is a black cat until one day she discovers she looks different from the rest of her family and finds out she is not a cat and wants to find out what she is. She ends up finding Mr. Groundhog who thinks she is a beaver, then a sparrow and so on until Sadie gets so upset she poofs out a cloud of smog which lets Mr. Groundhog know what she is. Then she is taken to her real family. Thank you. It was fun to write and I really enjoy reading it during school visits and book signings. -- No, I didn't know Laura. The publisher chose my illustrator and I didn't know a thing about her. So, I immediately checked out the books she had already illustrated and they were all absolutely beautiful. A bit later, Laura contacted me, she was going to come to La. to do research for the illustrations; take pics of alligators, Acadian houses, swamps, etc. We met and I took her to a few places to take pics. Then she returned to visit in 2007 and stayed with me for a few days. We had a wonderful time doing some book signings together. I hope she visits again soon.
