About Gretchen

I am a newcomer to writing and illustrating children's books, but have four picture books in the works. I also teach graphic design at The New England Institute of Art in the Boston area. My favorite subject is animals.

I am researching and interviewing Caldecott Award winners for my MFA degree. Any winners on this site? I'd love to talk or email you regarding your thoughts on the relationship between graphic design and illustration and the role of design in the picture book format.
