During my teaching and sporting career, I have met and associated with many different characters both in the city and outback areas of South Australia and the Northern Territory. Now, as a full time author, I draw inspiration for my writing from these characters.
My first young adult novel, ‘Forest Spirit’, resulted largely from my work as a school principal in the Northern Territory where I mixed with cattle station owners, station workers’, bush policemen, Chinese shopkeepers and other local folk.
I also came to know Aboriginal people, both tribal and town dwelling.
Having retired from teaching, I now devote my time to writing and have now completed my 'Forest' trilogy with 'Forest Shadows' and 'Forest Secrets'.
As a keen sportsman, I played football and cricket for Port Adelaide and have since coached several country football sides. I was also appointed as the Tasmanian State coach for the under 18 lawn bowls side.
I now live in the northern Tasmanian town of Deloraine with my wife, Wendy and faithful dog, Jesse.
