I spent a number of years illustrating books (not all mentioned here) as well as puppeteering (for Jim Henson among others), theatre design, film special effects and model animation....
I've been teaching art part-time for a few years and doing portrait sculpture, but my abiding affection for children's literature always stimulates my visual imagination.
My influences are the usual suspects - Rackham, Heath-Robinson, Ronald Searle...and the great Mort Drucker (Mad magazine)
I live like a hermit in idylic rural, peasant splendour, in a cottage (honeysuckle, vine etc) on a country estate in South Lincolnshire, England, which I share with a chinchilla and a spider called George. George has lots of relatives and friends - I don't know their names but as long as they don't make a lot of noise they're welcome to stay.
