I welcome you all.
My name is Grivas Vasilis. I was born in 1967. I am an illustrator and I illustrate books and whatever comes my way. I am a member of the Greek Chamber of Visual Arts and the Artistic Society of Greek Children’s and Adolescent’s Book “Esopus”. I am also registered in the program “The National Book Centre and the child” of the National Book Centre. So far I have illustrated 100 books for children, novels, book covers, brochures and anything you can imagine.Collaborations with Ministry of Education in Athens,with Embassy of the USA in Athens,and COLLBORATION WITH CYTOGENOMIC MEDICAL LABORATORY,IN BUCURESTI. Four years ago I wrote and illustrated a fairytale of my own based on and inspired from Greek traditional legends and it is called “ I Heliogenniti ke o Constantis” (“Sunborn girl and Constantis”). I also had two personal exhibitions and I have participated in a group exhibition, all with excellent reviews. Unfortunately illustration takes most of my time so I do not paint as much as I would like to. . I take pictures too, for professional reasons or just for friends, with the same heat and love I make paintings. I just love the perspective that my camera’s lenses and me can give to the world scene. In my free time, I like gathering up with friends at home, talk and have fun, I much enjoy good, tasty dishes and I love Fellini along with anything concerning the Italian neorealism. As for the music I like British music, old heavy duty pop-folk songs and opera, all in random order. I do not appreciate imbecility. I hate anything nationalist. I do not agree with any religion. I do not believe in anything but me and a couple of friends. I entered my space in order for more people to get in touch with my work. Painting makes me feel free. Painting liberates me.
