Kevin Fobbs has been a professional journalist and writer since 1975. He obtained a political science and journalism degree from Eastern Michigan University and attended Wayne State University Law School.

He recently received a national award from Writer’s Digest Magazine for his poem “Not A Simple Tree”

Kevin has written for the New York Times, and is the former Community Concerns columnist for 12 years with the Detroit News covering community, family relations, domestic abuse, education, government relations, and dispute resolution. He has also written for an assortment of online editorial and news sites.

He has written as the Christian and Culture examiner for Ann Arbor Examiner and served as host of the highly popular The Kevin Fobbs Show radio program on WDTK. His informative e-How articles range from, legal, health, family issues and education to culture and entertainment as well as home and business solutions.

In addition, Kevin Fobbs’ online faith-based Hearken The Watchmen column provides insight and answers on family, faith, and how to arrive at faith-based solutions to life’s challenges.

Kevin Fobbs has more than 35 years of wide-ranging experience as a public relations consultant, business executive, government appointee, political advisor, writer, and national lecturer. Kevin ran and operated the National Urban Policy Action Council (NUPAC) which produced colorblind solutions to universal issues.

He has been in the forefront of communications initiatives; devised and implemented strategies to win public support for public policy issues and positions; directed electoral campaigns; and spearheaded as well as managed state and regional referendum, and helped direct White House Initiatives, including Education, Social Security, Welfare Reform. Faith-Based Initiatives, and many others.
