Literary translator: English, Spanish and Italian into French.

Favourite fields: children's and teenage novels, thrillers, historical novels, fantasy, comics, picture books.

Naturally I translate books selected by the publishers, but I have also translated several novels which I had selected at my own initiative after learning that the publishing rights to them were available. Two French-language publishers bought the rights and contracted me to carry out the translations.
Consequently, I am always in search of new books (novels, comics, picture books) with rights available, in order to offer them to French-language publishers.

I had the great pleasure to translate “The Secret History of Tom Trueheart”, which is due to be published in French at the beginning of 2011, and I am now translating “Tom Trueheart and the Land of Dark Stories”. Tom is one of my favourite characters and holds a special place in my heart. This is so for all the other characters in the stories I have discovered, such as, for instance, the six-book series of adventure stories about children who discover vampires and other unusual creatures. Written in Spanish, the series is entitled “El Mundo Flotante”  (“Le Monde Flottant”). The first book, “El Vampiro Vegetariano”, which I translated into French, has already been published under the title “Le Vampire Végétarien”.
I am likewise fond of the characters in the two-book humourous series I also discovered, "Pepé Levalián” 1 and 2 ("Léon contre la Sorcière et le Voleur de Parapluies" and "Léon contre Bandits et Dragons"), by the Argentinian writer, Raúl Argemí, telling the adventures of a not very brave knight and his funny, shabby, speaking old horse, named Swift Wind.
I have selected more books (for young and adult readers) for which I hope to soon find publishers to buy the rights and of course to sign translation contracts with me. In one of those novels for children, a very humourous story of friendship on a science-fiction background, the main character is particularly endearing. Though it's a humourous novel, it also teaches tolerance and peace and makes us hope war and crime will disappear some day. Also waiting for a French speaking publisher for 9 other books for which I know there is a potential readership in the French-speaking world.

- Maite Carranza's "Clan de la Loba" ("Le Clan de la Louve") which I just love;
- Care Santos's “Bel: amor más allá de la muerte” ("L'Amour au-delà de la Mort");
- “Acuarela, una nueva forma de aprender a pintar”, by David Sanmiguel and Óscar Sanchís, a watercolour book ("Aquarelle, une autre façon d'apprendre à peindre");
- A graphic book, "La Casa de los Susurros, book 3" ("Le Manoir des Murmures, tome 3"), by David Muñoz, Tirso and Javi Montes;
- A few endearing picture books: Pedro Penizzotto's "El Chico sin Sombra" ("Le Garçon sans Ombre"), Alessandra Fusi's "Tessie" ("Le Grand Voyage de Tessie") and Daniel Monedero and Óscar T. Pérez's "La Gran Orquesta de los Animales" ("Le Grand Orchestre des Animaux").
