My name is Jerry Harwood. I have lived, worked, and joked with elementary school children for over thirty years in Florence, Kentucky. I am a retired schoolteacher with a master’s degree in administration, and a school bus driver, who enjoys being with and helping children make the most of their lives.

I have written a Joke Book for Kids called "Jokes from the School Bus." It consists of 96 picture filled pages of children inspired, corny jokes and riddles for ages 7 thru 11. This book even helps poor readers to become better students.

My book, “Jokes from the School Bus,” was featured in the March, 2008 issue of the National Education Association’s Magazine “neatoday.” It was also reviewed in the May, 2008 issue of Kentucky Monthly, the official state magazine.

During the school year I visit schools and present a program for children during which I explain my history, how I developed and recorded jokes, how I drew pictures to enhance the words, and how I managed to get the book published.

Writing, illustrating, and marketing this book has been a significant learning experience for me. Even though making this book was not easy, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Everyday, there’s a new challenge, and something new to learn.

Now, I have completed my second joke book for children. My second book is just as nifty, just as funny, just as cute, and just as helpful to children as my first book. The name of my second book is “We’ve Got Jokes For Kids” and there’s an alligator family on the cover.
