Marilyn Mets has been working as an illustrator, art director and graphic designer for over 25 years, with formal training from the Ontario College of Art, Toronto and Sheridan College, Oakville. She has recently completed writing courses at George Brown College, and Centennial College, Toronto.

Since 1998 she has been co-illustrating with partner Peter Ledwon and producing artwork in digital format. Their most recent picture book is Mia's Secret, published by Tundra Books.

Published work includes illustration and collaboration on numerous children's books, in Canada and the U.S. – with many awards and nominations including nominations for; the Amelia Frances Gibbons Award for Illustration in 1998 for Cameron and Me, in 2004 for Waiting for the Sun; the Ruth Schwartz Award, in 1994 for November Boots; and won the Alberta Book Illustration Award Red Deer Press (Calgary): In Abby's Hands by Wendy A.
