WRITING FICTION FOR CHILDREN Instructor: Pam Zollman $180 -- 6 weeks Thursday, January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. YWCA of Greenville 700 Augusta Street Greenville, SC 29605 864-373-6300 This class will focus on writing fiction for children: short stories, picture books, chapter books, middle-grade novels, and YA novels. We will discuss characterization; point of view; dialogue; plot; scene and sequel; pace and progression; chapter hooks and cliff hangers; revision; manuscript format; and the submission process. You will have a portfolio of writing exercises, class handouts, and a manuscript-in-progress. Manuscripts will be critiqued in class.
