He is in London now, trying to work himself into a position to be able to marry and support Susanna. However, fate throws several obstacles in his way -- he is jailed for being a Quaker, his employer is killed by the black plague, the Great Fire of London destroys his livelihood. I enjoyed the believable way the historic events of 1665-1666 London were woven into the lives of these characters. tags: I recommend
