When he gets to be too much for his grandma, she sends him outside to explore. The animals he meets on the pier teach him the value of listening, waiting and paying attention.
This is a great read aloud story. The repetition in the story makes it fun for the children to read along with the reader, while encouraging memorization and word recognition. The children will be engaged by the animals, and relate to the little boy. The animal facts allow for a deeper learning experience for the parent or teacher to share with the child.
