MoreFarewell to Freedom is a New Day Western genre written by a female author. It's a story about Cheyenne Stevens, a woman who flees the heartache of a failing marriage and moves to the small cow town, Freedom, Oklahoma. She lives with ruthless cowboy, Rowdy Harrison, who she meets at the NFR in Vegas. She invests in the bull business with the cowboy and finds out it isn't his first rodeo. Although the story is fiction, it's largely based on the author's true life experiences. Cheyenne faces obstacles that many women would run from. She faces them head on. Each day brings a new situation. After investing millions to buy a large ranch and build a western guest ranch, she discovers that Rowdy is not who she imagined him to be. Their love falls apart when he shares the wealth with his freeloading friends. His drinking escalates and he uses money from the till to support his bad habits. He's a thief and a cheat who takes other women to Cheyenne's bed when she's not around. She is a woman existing in a man's world. The rodeo bull business is cuthroat and dishonnest. Many are out to take advantage. Rowdy makes business when he's drunk with unscrupulous characters. Cheyenne works 24/7 to make her business a success. It's an ongoing battle between the cowboy and the socialite. She spends money and time caring for his elderly parents and three teenage kids. The lodge is located in tornado alley, what the weather doesn't destroy Rowdy does. Their relationship goes from a love affair to a circus. Life with the cowboy becomes a roller coaster ride. Rowdy's days start with a beer in the shower and he drinks all day until he passes out. Cheyenne has no friends in Freedom, her lifelong friends are scattered around the country and they beg her to get out. She stays hoping to one day recover her investment. But the life she's created there takes it's toll. When her prayers are answered they're answered large. When she thinks she has found a way out, she's taken again by a slime bucket from Las Vegas who comes professing he's a buyer, when in fact he's a crook. Cheyenne takes her bumps and gets up to ride again the next day. She's a tough cookie, a pretty little thing, with stamina. In the beginning she's there for love. In the end, she gets her revenge. Saying Farewell to Freedom becomes a matter of survival. This is a story enjoyed by men and women alike. Women readers have commented that I've written their story. This type of deception happens more often than one would imagine to vulnerable women who fall in love with the wrong man.
