Villagers find a wounded man floating in a rice paddy. When samurai Judge Ooka and his teenage adopted son Seikei arrive, they notice a strange tattoo on the man's back. It appears to be part of a map. But where is the rest of it? Soon, more tattooed men turn up, but someone else is looking for them: Seikei's old nemesis, the ninja Kitsune. With him involved, the search becomes deadly. Seikei must find the mysterious treasure the maps lead to before Kitsune gets his hands on it.
