Moonlight Ridge is a magical, musical homeplace, overlooking a small fictional town named Eden. Here you'll meet a pair of intrepid eight-year-old cousins and their multi-ethnic family in the backwoods of Alabama. Family and community members include a great-grandfather who is a self-proclaimed, marsupial loving, naturalist of Quaker heritage, a Cajun grandfather who makes homemade fiddles, a father and uncle who are descended from the Apaches who once resided in Alabama, and an African American neighbor who carries a magic wand. Most of all, this is a story about family and community ties, loyalty and faith, and a very unusual map used by two flamboyant children to solve a mystery out on the mountain.
