Drawing on the rich Christmas folklore of Scandinavia, the reader is taken on a magical journey into the realm of the Christmas pixies. Set in rural Denmark more than a hundred years ago, the story unfolds as the very first snow brings the Christmas season to a small farming community. But although Eric and Anne - the main characters - are filled with the excitement of holiday preparations and winter play, a large cloud hangs over their lives.

In their quest to save Christmas, the children venture into the imaginary world of pixies and talking animals as related to them through their grandfather's bedtime stories. Here they meet Mr. Chills the hypochondriac snowman, Pixie Megan with her family of elves and a host of other intriguing characters.

All the magic of Christmas as seen through the eyes of an innocent child comes alive to capture the heart of the reader, as the true spirit of Christmas finally prevails.
