Not happy with her life in Germany, she looks to America for a new beginning. But things don't always turn out the way Gabrielle expected them to. Some challenges and hardships are thrust upon her as she crosses the Atlantic Ocean and establishes a life in her new country. Gabrielle and Emma have little material means or money but they are rich in character. Gabrielle meets the challenges head on and she experiences many delightful adventures in America.
