We begin with a collection of our best articles from the dark days following the assassination. We then tell the story of Abraham Lincoln's life, a compelling presentation of his life from boyhood, through his time as an aspiring politician and family man, and ending with his presidency during the Civil War. As we worked, we have tried to heed Abraham Lincoln's words of warning:"Biographies, as generally written, are not only misleading, but false. The author makes a wonderful hero of his subject. He magnifies his perfections, if he has any, and suppresses his imperfections.
