The Star Rover is a novel by Jack London in which the narrator, a professor serving time in San Quentin Prison for murder, uses a sort of psychic trance to escape the anguish of his physical torture at the hands of prison officials. During these times, he is able to experiences parts of past lives of other people, and the stories of these experiences form the primary focus of the book.
