4/17/2010 Kate Russell said: I love Diana Wynne Jones. Her books have lots of humour and magic in them and Howl particularly is a wonderful character. Read it, and then catch the Hayao Miyazaki movie adaptation, which is very enjoyable.

I love this book as it gives a strong will to the main charater sophie. We don't get to see many female character who don't cry and swoon into mens arms all the time. In fact she turns into an old not so beautiful granny and spends most of her time cleaning! But her effects on the people she meet... more
