This story is based on a tale called, The Anklet. This Cinderella buys a tiny jug that has a pari, fairy that grants wishes, and makes her dreams come true. Then the pari falls into her mean stepsisters’ hands and she is turned into a bird. She flies to her love’s window and he unknowingly breaks the spell. The story is as heartwarming as the Disney version, and the twists in the story keep you interested. The story introduces some customs and traditions from the Persian culture without bias or judgment. The illustrations were created with brand specific markers, pencils, and paper. The borders on the pages are reminiscent of the well known Persian rug industry. There is a Taj Mahal like castle complete with reflecting pool. Then there are adobe style houses that would be for the less fortunate peoples. There are hundreds of colors and several prints in the clothing and architecture. The illustrator enlisted help from Persian models and technical editors to ensure the authenticity of the representation of the Persian culture.
