"The kid-friendly, adult-savvy folks at Razor & Tie Records (an otherwise "adult"-oriented label out of New York) have made more immaculate song choices for More Kidz Bop Gold. Billed as "The greatest hits of all time sung by kids for kids," the Gold series of albums are a successful spin-off from the regular Kidz Bop series. The regular series recasts pop, rock and R&B hits no more than a year old with talented studio musicians and unknown but talented lead singers and choirs of grade schoolers singing along enthusiastically. And tones them down a notch for a younger audience. Instead of plucking hot tracks from the charts More Kidz Bop Gold digs deep into the '60s, '70s and '80s for feel-good classics and one-hit wonders like "Walking on Sunshine" from Katrina & the Waves, which opens the CD. One listen to this song alone, and you'll be sold. And so will your kids. Since the beginning, children's music has struggled to be as enjoyable to the parents who end up listening to the music over and over and over.
