This uplifting story about seeing things in a new way teaches young readers that adapting to change can be exciting instead of unsettling. At the end of every summer, Andy has a hard time accepting that the days of play are over and that he must return to school-he thinks that the close of summer takes all of the good times with it, and he wishes that he could follow the sun like a bird. When he falls asleep beneath a tree, he dreams that Autumn visits him and shows him all of the beautiful things she brings-like sunsets that remind him of the colors in summertime. Andy realizes that he can remember his summer and still appreciate and welcome the fall.
