Angel of Mercy is a heart-warming story of a teenager who survived a tragic car accident when she was just three. Remembering only that she lost her mother, Abbey struggles through childhood with her single father and wants answers, but her father is not ready to tell her what happened. However, everything changes on her 13th birthday when a ghost visits her during a severe storm. Abbey is determined to figure out what is going on. She also re-connects with her elderly next door neighbor who gives her a kitten for her birthday and encourages her to visit her grandmother for the summer so she can get the answers she's looking for. Taking her neighbor's advice, Abbey stays with her grandmother in the country and learns a lot not only about her mother, but her grandmother and horseback riding as well. She also learns about her twin sister, Ally's, death. Abbey is forced to face her fears so she can escape Ally's continued haunting. Not only does Abbey have to defeat her sister, but she meets her mother's ghost and then says an emotional good-bye
