Reading is an important practice to have, but the book, Humberto, the Bookworm Hamster shows there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. A person’s interests are better shared and widened. As the pages are turned Humberto’s facial expressions, furry bespectacled body and love for books burst forth from each page. No wonder Humberto loves to read. His imaginings, as Illustrated by Kit Grady made me want to crawl into Mayra Calvanis’ book and experience a few of Humberto’s imaginings for myself. What great fun he has in his imagination. The illustrations mesh seamlessly with an imaginative text. Mayra’s picture books have always entertained me. With Humberto, the Bookworm Hamster she’s succeeded again.
