A fairytale like no other - and one strong, intelligent women (especially mothers) will adore. Prince Thorfinn grows up in a home with parents who are power and money hungry and have, to put it lightly, a cold, distant, empty marriage. As Thorfinn comes of age, he is summoned by another king with three daughters ready to marry. With the wise court jester and his cat by his side, Thorfinn journeys to this neighboring kingdom to woo the princesses and choose a wife. Of course his parents recommend he choose one that will bring him either wealth or power. With the help of his very clever jester friend, he finds which princess would bring wealth, which power and finally which would bring love and happiness. With a wonderful twist of an ending, the loving princess ends up with a spouse, but it's not who you expect. If you are a mother who wants to raise wise and discerning sons, and/or strong, intelligent daughters, I suggest you get a copy of this book. It might even make a nice graduation or wedding gift since the themes of wisdom and love are intertwined in this endearing fairytale that puts disney-esque tales to shame.
