I mentioned this book and included a picture of Dominic reading it in the Kane/Miller newsletter recently. When I first brought the book home he wasn't much interested. But then after looking more closely at the illustrations he quickly picked up on the fact that this was not the typical book in that it did not have a story from start to finish. No he decided that this was more like a catalog an encylopedia of cars that although don't exist in real life exist in his mind. He started selecting which cars he wanted and when I told him which was my favorite (the Spiderwagon because you could park on the sides of buildings and climb up and over instead of sitting in traffic) he got a bit upset since he wanted to choose this one as his favorite. I haven't the heart to inform him of the fact that people can actually share the same favorites...for now I'm letting him think that someday he can have his own Spiderwagon. After all he has plenty of time to invent one.
