Non-dancers immersed in the world of Irish dance shows, as are so many of us here in the Celtic Cafe community, will appreciate not only the glimpse into the world of feiseanna through the eyes of the thirteen-year-old heroine, but the glossary at the end of this thoroughly enjoyable little mystery novel. Although written to appeal mostly to 9-to 13-year-old girls, adults reading the book can enjoy the obvious satirical elements throughout the story." According to author Brenna Briggs, "There is more excitement at this Celtic Arch Feis in St. Louis than 13-year-old Irish dancer Liffey Rivers could have possibly imagined. Within 24 hours, she manages to foil a sophisticated international criminal plot, dance her soft shoe jig and prevent a possible war. As Liffey is power walking around the hotel lobby preparing for the next day's dance competition where she is determined to win a 1st place medal and earn her very own solo dress, she notices a suspicious looking man with a white stripe running down the back of his dark black hair, like a skunk. Liffey observes that he is carrying a shopping bag with a beautiful porcelain Irish dancer doll peeking out. The doll is wearing a dazzling diamond solo dress crown. But something is wrong. Liffey follows the 'skunk man' to get a better look at the doll, and in her pursuit for answers, she finds herself not only competing for a medal, but running for her life as well. After a series of close calls and in a state of near collapse, Liffey Rivers unravels the mystery of the sparkling solo dress crown."
