Douglas Hopkins, a native of Old Perlican (Trinity Bay, Newfoundland), created his first storybook characters at the age of seven. Princess June and the Shadow Pirates is the first in a series of adventure storybooks that capture the scenic beauty of Newfoundland and further a tradition of sharing tall tales.
