MoreThese fifteen stories are about a family of water otters that live in The New Forest in Hampshire. Every year they have a litter of otter puppies. Sometimes three but usually four at a time. Like all youngsters they seem to have such wonderful but different characters. The mummy otter is called Sue Kettle and her partner is Robbie Kettle. All they want is to be left alone to bring up their youngsters every year. To see them grow up safely. They want to teach them to be kind and considerate to the other creatures and birds that live around them. But of course this does not happen. With so many different creatures and birds living nearby there is always one or another of them in trouble. Because Sue and Robbie like to show their own children that helping others is so important, they get caught up in all sorts of problems. Usually they get as many of the other creatures together and try to find a solution to the situation. They all suggest ideas and them pick the best one. As you will see this usually works well. They are well liked and respected throughout the forest because they are always there for the others. But sometimes they need help themselves. The others do not let them down. They all rally round and sort out the problems between them. Perhaps we could learn from their good deeds.
