This fun story teaches children tree information and features 14 realistic illustrations as well as 41 colorful photographs. The photos were taken by the author and will help readers learn more about the great variety of trees. Join Rachel, Sammy, and their friends as they hike through the woods, learning as they go! Jannifer Powelson lives in Princeton, Illinois and has been writing children's books since 2003. The first two books in the Rachel Raccoon and Sammy Skunk series are Rachel and Sammy Visit the Prairie, and Rachel and Sammy Visit the Forest. She is currently working on the fourth book in the Rachel Raccoon and Sammy Skunk series. The author conducted research on raccoons to write her master's thesis and now works as a resource conservationist.
