Kids will learn how planes have been used in battle and how unmanned robot planes are used now. Each spread features clear, informative text highlighted by color illustrations, cool graphics, diagrams, and a data file that includes the length, weight, wingspan, and top speed of the featured plane. At the top of each page is a timeline and outline of various planes that states the name and year they were used. Words in bold throughout the text also reference terms that are in the glossary so kids can easily look up words they are not familiar with. Kids have always been fascinated by planes and jets and this interactive book is an all encompassing look at how the first fighter planes were developed, how planes moved from propeller engines to jet engines in the 1930's, and how harriers are the only aircraft that are capable of flying tail first. Also included are five full-color press-out models to build and over 90 decals to decorate the models.
